Preheat the grill.

Place the large tomatoes and jalapeño on the grill and roast, turning, for 10 minutes for the tomatoes and 5 minutes for the pepper. Let cool slightly.

Step 3

Peel the tomatoes, and remove the seeds and stem from the pepper. Transfer to a blender.

Step 4

Add the minced garlic and salt. Blend until smooth.
