Description

Fried Onion Garnish (Version 2)

Ingredients

  • Salt to taste
  • Safflower Oil 5 fl oz
  • Onion 2 pieces
  • Parsley 3 stems
  • Sparkling water 10 fl oz
  • Wheat Flour 4 tablespoons

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Take two large onions and slice them into rings.

Step 2

Sift the flour with a pinch of salt into a bowl and slowly pour in the water while stirring until the batter resembles thick sour cream. Finely chop the parsley and add it to the batter.

Step 3

Heat the remaining oil in a pan to 355°F. Dip the onion rings into the batter and fry them in batches until they are golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and let excess oil drain. Serve hot as a garnish for roasted and fried meats.
