Fried Onion Garnish (Version 2)
Ingredients
- Salt to taste
- Safflower Oil 5 fl oz
- Onion 2 pieces
- Parsley 3 stems
- Sparkling water 10 fl oz
- Wheat Flour 4 tablespoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Take two large onions and slice them into rings.
Step 2
Sift the flour with a pinch of salt into a bowl and slowly pour in the water while stirring until the batter resembles thick sour cream. Finely chop the parsley and add it to the batter.
Step 3
Heat the remaining oil in a pan to 355°F. Dip the onion rings into the batter and fry them in batches until they are golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and let excess oil drain. Serve hot as a garnish for roasted and fried meats.
