  • Walnuts 5 oz
  • Almond 5 oz
  • Macadamia Nuts 5 oz
  • Cashew 5 oz
  • Hazelnut 5 oz
  • Pistachios 5 oz
  • Peanut Sprouts 5 oz
  • Sugar 20 oz
  • Cinnamon 3 pieces
  • Star anise 4 pieces
  • Mild Chili Spice 1 tablespoon
  • Salt 0 oz
  • Vegetable Oil 0 qt
  • Mild Chili Spice to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Pour one and a half liters of water into a large heavy-bottomed pot, add sugar, cinnamon, star anise, coarsely ground chili, and salt, and bring to a boil. Add all the nuts. Bring to a boil again, cook for five minutes, drain the syrup, and let the nuts cool for half an hour.

Step 2

Fill a pot halfway with frying oil and heat it well. Fry the nuts in batches, stirring, for five to seven minutes until they are golden brown.

Step 3

Remove and dry on a kitchen towel. Add salt and chili powder to taste.
