Fried halloumi with peppers and nectarines
Ingredients
- Orange Bell Peppers 1 piece
- Orange Bell Peppers 1 piece
- Nectarines 4 pieces
- Halloumi Cheese 10 oz
- Mint 0 oz
- Olive Oil 0 fl oz
- Butter 0 oz
- Sumac to taste
- Salt to taste
- Champagne Vinegar 0 fl oz
- Meyer Lemon Juice 0 fl oz
- Honey 1 tablespoon
- Sugar a pinch
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Slice the peppers into thin strips, removing the core and all the seeds. Cut the nectarines in half and remove the pit.
Step 2
Slice the halloumi into pieces 7-10 mm thick.
Step 3
In heated olive oil, sauté the peppers until they are soft, then add salt, pepper, and sugar, and transfer to a separate dish.
Step 4
In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the nectarines on both sides until they develop a caramelized crust. Return the peppers to the nectarines, add vinegar, lemon juice, and honey. Remove from heat and let it steep.
Step 5
Sauté the halloumi in a skillet with olive oil until golden brown. Arrange the peppers, nectarines, and cheese on a plate, drizzling with the sauce from the skillet. Sprinkle with chopped mint and sumac.
Step 6
A cup of espresso will perfectly complement the breakfast.
