Description

This is how fried eggs are prepared in a popular café in New York.

Ingredients

  • Chicken Egg 3 pieces
  • Onion 0 oz
  • Sweet Pepper 0 oz
  • Garlic 0 oz
  • Tomatoes 0 oz
  • Crushed Tomatoes in Their Own Juice 5 oz
  • Ground coriander 0 oz
  • Cilantro 0 oz
  • Basil 1 sprig
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar to taste
  • Olive Oil 0 fl oz
  • Vegetable Oil 0 fl oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Prepare the tomato sauce. Blend the tomatoes at a low speed to preserve their color. In olive oil, lightly sauté 10 grams of garlic and basil, then add the blended tomatoes and bring to a boil. Season with salt and sugar to taste. Remove the garlic and basil.

Step 2

Slice the onion into thin strips, the pepper into strips, and the tomato into large cubes, while cutting 3 grams of garlic into thin slices.

Step 3

In an ovenproof skillet with a metal handle, sauté the vegetables in vegetable oil, then add 100 ml of tomato sauce and spices. Adjust the flavor with salt and sugar.

Step 4

Make three indentations in the sauce and crack one egg into each.

Step 5

Place the skillet in the oven preheated to 390°F. Bake until the egg whites are cooked, about 2 minutes.

Step 6

Garnish the finished dish with cilantro and serve it in the skillet.
