Fried Camembert with Quince Jelly
Ingredients
- Camembert cheese 20 oz
- Wheat Flour 4 tablespoons
- Chicken Eggs 2 pieces
- Breadcrumbs 5 oz
- Vegetable Oil to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Remove the cheese from the packaging and cut each round into 6 wedges. Place the flour, breadcrumbs, and beaten egg in separate shallow dishes.
Step 2
Dip the cheese in the flour, then in the egg, and then in the breadcrumbs one at a time. For a thicker crust, dip again in the egg and breadcrumbs.
Step 3
Heat a pan filled with oil no more than 1/3 full to 180°C (a cube of bread dipped in the oil will brown in 30 seconds).
Step 4
Carefully lower 3 slices of cheese into the hot oil and fry for 2 minutes until golden brown — make sure the cheese does not start leaking through the crust.
Step 5
Remove with a slotted spoon and serve immediately, 3 pieces per person, with jelly.
