Fried Camembert with Garlic and Tomatoes
Appetizers • French
Description
This dish, like most hot dishes, is best served on a warmed plate so that the cheese doesn't harden before you eat it.
Ingredients
- Camembert cheese 4 pieces
- Garlic 4 cloves
- Tomatoes 2 pieces
- Lemon 1 piece
- Parsley 0 oz
- Olive Oil 0 fl oz
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Finely chop the tomatoes and garlic, then sauté them in olive oil with lemon juice, sprinkling with chopped parsley. There's no need to cook them down completely; it's better to stop somewhere in between. The tomatoes should soften slightly from the heat but should retain their fresh flavor.
Step 2
As soon as the "in-between" stage is reached (usually about three minutes is enough), place the heads of Camembert cheese on a preheated grill pan and cook them until they are about to melt, starting to ooze and burn. Once you catch this moment, remove the cheese from the grill using a spatula.
Step 3
Transfer to a plate and sprinkle with a mixture of tomatoes, parsley, and garlic.
