Fried Cabbage Side Dish

Step 1
Separate the cabbage leaves, trying not to tear them. Remove the stems. Bring salted water to a boil in a large pot, place the cabbage leaves in, submerging them with a spoon, bring to a boil again, cover with a lid, and cook for 30 minutes. Then carefully remove the leaves and dry them on paper towels.
Step 2
Heat the oil in a deep skillet to 355°F. Fold the edges of each cabbage leaf towards the center, then roll them up — you should have envelopes about the size of a matchbox. Dip the cabbage in flour, then fry them.
Step 3
Cook for a few minutes until the leaves turn golden. These rolls are great with stewed meat.
