Fragrant Corn in Cream Sauce
Ingredients
- Onion ½ head
- Butter 2 tablespoons
- Corn Cobs 8 pieces
- Sugar 1 teaspoon
- Ground Nutmeg 0.1 teaspoons
- Cream (40%) 5 fl oz
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and sauté the finely chopped onion over medium heat until translucent, about 2–3 minutes.
Step 2
Carefully cut the kernels off the corn cobs into a large bowl using a sharp knife.
Step 3
Add the corn to the onion, stir, pour in 600 ml of water, and add the remaining butter. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce the heat, and cook for 10–15 minutes until the corn is tender.
Step 4
Add the sugar, nutmeg, and cream, and cook for another 5–6 minutes, stirring and leaving the lid off. Season with salt and pepper.
