Fettuccine with Tuna
Ingredients
- Fettuccine Pasta 10 oz
- Canned Mackerel in Oil 5 oz
- Garlic 3 cloves
- Olive Oil 5 tablespoons
- Sweet Red Onion ½ head
- Dill 2 bunches
- Chopped Sage Leaves 1 tablespoon
- Salt a pinch
- Ground Black Pepper a pinch
- Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese 5 oz
- Tomatoes 10 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Drain the oil from the tuna and flake it with a fork. Peel the tomatoes. Chop the onion and garlic.
Step 2
In a large skillet, pour in the olive oil, sauté the onion and garlic, add a bit of freshly ground pepper, and cook over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring. Then add salt.
Step 3
At the same time, cook the pasta in a large pot of salted water. Drain the water as it becomes ready.
Step 4
Add the tuna to the skillet, cook for another 3 minutes, sprinkle with parsley and dill, and mix thoroughly. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet. Gently stir over heat for 1 minute.
Step 5
Sprinkle with grated Parmesan on top. Serve the dish hot with dry white wine.
