  • Chicken Egg 3 pieces
  • Onion 1 piece
  • White bread 5 oz
  • Apple Cider Vinegar 1½ tablespoons
  • Vegetable Oil 2 tablespoons
  • Lightly Salted Red Fish 1 piece
  • Apple 1 piece

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Prepare the herring by filleting it. Remove the head, bones, and entrails. If it is very salty, soak it in water.

Step 2

Boil the eggs hard.

Step 3

Peel and chop the apple (preferably a tart variety) and onion into pieces.

Step 4

Soak the bread in water.

Step 5

Grind everything through a meat grinder with a fine mesh.

Step 6

Mix everything together, dressing with oil (preferably homemade fragrant oil) and vinegar.

Step 7

Serve chilled.
