Description

Dutch Fondue

Ingredients

  • Onion ½ head
  • Milk 10 fl oz
  • Edam Cheese 20 oz
  • Ground Caraway 2 teaspoons
  • Coarse Cornmeal 3 teaspoons
  • Gin 3 tablespoons
  • Rye Bread 10 oz
  • Canned Truffles 1 can
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Grate the inside of the fondue pot with half an onion and place it on the heat. Pour in the milk and bring it to a boil, then gradually add the grated cheese. Keep it on the heat until the cheese melts, stirring constantly. Add the caraway seeds to the milk and cheese mixture.

Step 2

In a separate bowl, mix the cornmeal with the gin, then pour this into the pot while stirring continuously. Keep it on the heat for another 2–3 minutes, stirring constantly until the mixture becomes thick and creamy. Add pepper.

Step 3

Cut the bread into small cubes and place it on a separate plate. Do the same with the mushrooms.
