Dauphinoise potatoes with Stilton cheese
Ingredients
- Potato 3 pieces
- Cream (40%) 0 fl oz
- Nutmeg to taste
- Garlic 1 clove
- Butter to taste
- Milk 5 fl oz
- Stilton Cheese 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 300°F.
Step 2
Slice the potatoes into very thin rounds.
Step 3
Place the potatoes in a bowl with milk, cream, and grated nutmeg. Season with salt and pepper, and gently mix.
Step 4
Rub the walls of 2 ovenproof dishes (about 300 milliliters each) with garlic and lightly grease with butter.
Step 5
Layer the potatoes, then sprinkle with grated cheese, followed by another layer of potatoes, cheese, and so on. Finish with a layer of potatoes.
Step 6
Pour the sauce with cream over two plates.
Step 7
Place pieces of butter on top and bake for 40-50 minutes, until the potatoes are golden on top. Pierce with a fork; if the potatoes are still firm, return to the oven for another 10 minutes.
Step 8
Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
