Description

To speed up the process and achieve a special, 'bruised' texture of the cucumber, you can gently crush the cucumber sticks with your hands before marinating.

Ingredients

  • Rice Vinegar for Sushi 0 fl oz
  • Cucumbers 2 pieces
  • Sesame Oil 0 fl oz
  • Soy Sauce 2 spoons
  • Mild Chili Spice 1 piece

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1 Image

Step 1

Peel the cucumbers and cut them into uniform sticks. The sticks should not be longer than 6–7 centimeters, or they will be difficult to pick up with chopsticks.

Step 2

Mix sesame oil with black rice vinegar and soy sauce. Slice the chili pepper into thin rings and add it to the marinade of vinegar, oil, and soy sauce.

Step 3

Pour the sliced cucumbers with the prepared marinade and let them steep for 2–3 minutes. Then serve as a spicy appetizer or as a side dish to fried or boiled beef.
