Ingredients

- Brown Sugar 5 oz
- Light Corn Syrup 0 fl oz
- French Baguette 6 pieces
- Chicken Egg 1 piece
- Cream 5 fl oz
- Vanilla extract 0 fl oz
- Orange bitters 1 teaspoon
- Salt a pinch
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the brown sugar and corn syrup, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Pour this mixture into a 22x33 cm baking dish.
Step 2
Trim the crusts off the bread slices and arrange them in a single layer in the baking dish.
Step 3
In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, cream, vanilla extract, orange liqueur, and a pinch of salt. Pour over the bread. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight.
Step 4
Preheat the oven to 345°F. Remove the dish from the refrigerator and let it sit until it reaches room temperature.
Step 5
Bake for 35–40 minutes in the preheated oven until golden brown.
