Creamy Spinach with Nutmeg
Ingredients
- Young Spinach "Belaya Dacha" 0 lbs
- Butter 2 tablespoons
- Shallot 0 oz
- Salt to taste
- Minced garlic 1 teaspoon
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Ground Nutmeg ¼ teaspoon
- Cream (40%) ½ cup
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the spinach (removing tough parts) and cook for 2 minutes. Drain and lightly squeeze out excess water. Chop finely.
Step 2
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the chopped shallot and minced garlic, and cook, stirring, until soft and fragrant, about 2 minutes.
Step 3
Add the spinach to the saucepan and cook, stirring, until all the liquid has evaporated.
Step 4
Add the cream, season with salt and pepper, and sprinkle with nutmeg. Let the cream reduce by half, about 4 minutes.
Step 5
Remove from heat and serve immediately.
