Ingredients
- Coarse Cornmeal 0.6 cups
- Wheat Flour 0.3 cups
- Sugar 2 tablespoons
- Baking Powder 0.5 teaspoons
- Salt 0.5 tablespoons
- Butter 5 tablespoons
- Milk 2 tablespoons
- Chicken Egg 1 piece
- Dijon Mustard 2 tablespoons
- Ham 5 oz
- Lime and chili chutney 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 355°F.
Step 2
In a bowl, mix the cornmeal and wheat flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, combine the softened butter, milk, and egg, and gradually incorporate the flour mixture. Spread the batter in a thin layer on a greased baking sheet and smooth it out.
Step 3
Bake until golden brown for 20-25 minutes. While the cake is hot, cut out 24 circles using a cookie cutter and transfer them to a plate. Let cool.
Step 4
Spread a small amount of mustard on each circle and top with very thin slices of ham. Drizzle a small amount of chutney on top.
