Description

Butter can be replaced with vegetable oil.

Ingredients

  • Apple 5 lbs
  • Meyer Lemon Juice 2 tablespoons
  • Sugar 3 tablespoons
  • Corn Starch 2 tablespoons
  • Ground Cinnamon 1 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Butter 8 tablespoons
  • Honey 2.5 tablespoons
  • Wheat Flour 0.5 cup
  • Ground Oats 2 cups
  • Chopped almonds 0 oz
  • Unsweetened shredded coconut 0 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 390°F.

Step 2

Peel and chop the apples into small pieces. Place them in a bowl and mix with lemon juice, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Mix well and spread evenly in a rectangular baking dish.

Step 3

In a small deep skillet, melt the butter with honey. Add flour, oats, almonds, coconut, and a pinch of salt. Mix well and spread the mixture evenly over the apples.

Step 4

Place in the oven for 45-55 minutes until the apples are soft. If the top layer starts to burn too early, cover the dish with foil, and then uncover it after a while. Cool and refrigerate. Serve in the morning with yogurt.
