Classic Sailor's Pasta
Ingredients
- Pasta (corkscrew) 5 oz
- Lean Beef 15 oz
- Passata Tomato Sauce 1½ spoons
- Onion 1 head
- Vegetable Oil 1 tablespoon
- Garlic 1 clove
- Water 5 fl oz
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cook the pasta according to the instructions on the package.
Step 2
Finely chop the onion.
Step 3
Crush the garlic or finely chop it.
Step 4
Place a skillet over medium heat and add vegetable oil. Add the onion and garlic, and stir with a spatula.
Step 5
Sauté the vegetables for 2–3 minutes.
Step 6
Add the minced meat and sauté for 10–12 minutes, stirring with a spatula.
Step 7
Add the tomato paste, stir, and heat for 2 minutes.
Step 8
Pour in hot water and heat the contents for 5 minutes.
Step 9
Season with salt and pepper. Add the pasta, stir, and heat for another 5 minutes.
Step 10
Serve the pasta hot. If desired, you can sprinkle the pasta with grated cheese and herbs.
