Chutney with Dried Pears and Cranberries
Ingredients
- Dried parsnip 5 oz
- Dried cranberries with sugar 0 oz
- Apple Cider Vinegar ½ cup
- Brown Sugar 3 tablespoons
- Grated Ginger Root 2 tablespoons
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Chili Flakes ½ teaspoon
- Ground Black Pepper ½ teaspoon
- Orange zest 2 pieces
- Water ¼ cup
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Finely chop the pears to make about 1 cup.
Step 2
In a saucepan, combine the pears, cranberries, vinegar, sugar, ginger, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, black pepper, orange zest, and water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer until the pears are soft, about 10 minutes.
Step 3
Remove the lid and let the sauce thicken slightly for a couple of minutes. Cool and remove the zest.
