Christmas Cookies with Greek Mastic
Ingredients
- Butter 10 oz
- Sugar 5 oz
- Egg white 1 piece
- Wheat Flour 15 oz
- Semi-soft cream cheese 0 oz
- Baking Powder 0 oz
- Chios Mastic Powder 0 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Beat the sugar and butter in a mixer. Add the egg and continue beating until fully dissolved. Then add the cream cheese and mastic and beat a little more.
Step 2
In a separate bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder and gradually add the butter mixture until you get a homogeneous dough. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for one hour.
Step 3
Preheat the oven to 340°F. Divide the dough into small balls and roll them out to a thickness of 3–5 mm. Cut out cookies using cookie cutters and place them on a baking sheet lightly greased with oil.
Step 4
Bake for 8–12 minutes depending on the size. Allow to cool before decorating them to your liking.
