Chili Paste with Garlic

Ingredients

  • Garlic 2 cloves
  • Red Long Chili Peppers 6 pieces
  • Fish Oil 1 teaspoon
  • Salt a pinch

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Place the dried chili peppers in a bowl, cover with boiling water, cover with something, and let sit for about 5-7 minutes.

Step 2

Then remove the peppers from the water, but do not discard the water.

Step 3

Chop the chilies and place them in a mortar. Add the two cloves of garlic.

Step 4

Mash the chilies and garlic with a pestle. Add a pinch of salt, a little fish sauce, and some of the water in which the dried peppers were soaked. Add water based on the desired thickness of the paste.

Step 5

Grind this mixture until a homogeneous mass is obtained.

Step 6

You can serve the paste immediately, or transfer it to a bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and store in the refrigerator.
