Cheese Platter with Fresh Figs
Appetizers • French
Description
A cheese platter is a dish that features a selection of cheeses, typically at least four varieties. Sometimes there can be as many as ten types: hard, soft, blue, classic, goat, and sheep cheeses. Processed and spreadable cheeses, as well as cheaper varieties, are not included on the platter. Cheese knives are always served with the cheese platter.
Ingredients
- Green Figs 10 oz
- Goat cheese 5 oz
- Danish Blue Cheese 5 oz
- Swiss Cheese 5 oz
- Emmental cheese 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
On a large plate, arrange all desired types of cheese in a clockwise manner, cut into small pieces. The cheese with the mildest flavor should be placed at the position of the imaginary number six. Hard and semi-hard cheeses should be placed on the edges, while soft varieties should be in the center of the platter.
Step 2
Garnish the cheese platter with slices of figs, grapes, and walnuts.
