Chard Sauté
Ingredients
- Olive Oil 5 fl oz
- Chard 30 oz
- Garlic 4 cloves
- Tomatoes 5 pieces
- Spanish onions 1 head
- Water 10 fl oz
- Passata Tomato Sauce 1 tablespoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Tear the chard leaves from the stems. Chop the stems coarsely. Blanch the tomatoes and chop them coarsely. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic.
Step 2
Place a skillet over medium heat, and heat the olive oil. Add the chard stems, onion, and garlic, and cook for 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are soft. Add the chard leaves, tomatoes, tomato paste, as well as coarse salt and ground black pepper to taste, and cook for about 10 minutes.
Step 3
Add 250 ml of cold water, mix well, and cook over low heat for about 30 minutes until the vegetables are tender and the mixture thickens.
