Ingredients
- Onion 20 oz

- Sugar 20 oz
- Cinnamon 1 piece
- Orange zest 0 oz

Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Peel the small onions and trim the ends.
Step 3
Dissolve the sugar in water, place it on the heat, and bring to a boil.
Step 4
Reduce the heat, add the orange zest and cinnamon.
Step 5
Add the onions to the syrup and simmer on low heat until most of the water evaporates and the syrup thickens significantly. Stir occasionally.
Step 6
Add the butter to the onions and cook for another 5–10 minutes.
Step 7
Serve the caramelized onions with duck, wild boar, or venison.
