Ingredients
- Onion 1 head
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Olive Oil 0 fl oz
- Ground meat 20 oz
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Red Grape Juice 5 fl oz
- Butter 0 oz
- Wheat Flour 2 tablespoons
- Milk 15 fl oz
- Ground Nutmeg to taste
- Tomato Puree 15 oz
- Conchiglie Pasta 12 pieces
- Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese 4 tablespoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Peel and chop the onion and garlic. Sauté the meat in olive oil until crumbly. Add the onion and garlic, sauté lightly. Season with salt and pepper. Pour in the wine and cook on low heat for 20 minutes.
Step 2
Prepare the béchamel sauce. Melt the butter in a pan and sauté the flour until golden. Gradually pour in the milk while stirring and reduce the sauce for 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, and add nutmeg. Preheat the oven to 355°F.
Step 3
Spread the tomato puree in a greased baking dish. Fill the cannelloni with the meat mixture and place them in the dish. Pour the sauce over, sprinkle with cheese, and bake for 30 minutes.
