Cannelloni Bolognese under a Cheese Blanket
Ingredients
- Lean Beef 20 oz
- Onion 2 heads
- Garlic 3 cloves
- Butter 0 oz
- Passata Tomato Sauce 2 tablespoons
- Wheat Flour 0 oz
- Milk 1 cup
- Cheese Spread 5 oz
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Nutmeg to taste
- Italian chopped parsley to taste
- Salt to taste
- Vegetable Oil to taste
- Conchiglie Pasta 12 pieces
- Potato 1 piece
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Sauté the ground beef in heated vegetable oil, add onion, garlic, tomato, and tomato paste, along with the herb mix, black pepper, and optionally a bay leaf and salt. Cook until ready.
Step 2
Prepare the béchamel sauce. In a saucepan, melt the butter, add the flour. Make sure there are no lumps by stirring constantly. While continuously stirring, add the milk and cook until the desired consistency is reached, then add salt, ground black pepper, and nutmeg.
Step 3
Boil the cannelloni (check the cooking time on the package).
Step 4
Stuff the cannelloni with the prepared Bolognese.
Step 5
Place the cannelloni on a greased baking sheet. Pour the béchamel sauce over the cannelloni and sprinkle with grated cheese (I used a mix of cheddar and gouda).
Step 6
Bake in the oven for 25 minutes at 390°F.
