  • Green Papaya 4 pieces
  • Bacon 8 slices
  • Onion 2 heads
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Edam Cheese 5 oz
  • Chopped Sage Leaves to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Take 4 heads of cabbage, approximately 150 grams each. Place them in boiling salted water, cover with a lid, and cook for 15 minutes until tender.

Step 2

Drain the water and place the cabbage on a cutting board. When slightly cooled, cut off the top and scoop out the core with a spoon.

Step 3

Meanwhile, heat a skillet and fry the finely chopped bacon until golden. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until soft. Remove from heat and stir in the grated cheese, black pepper, and chopped sage. Mix well. Preheat the oven to 355°F.

Step 4

Stuff the cabbage with the filling and place it in a greased baking dish. Spread the remaining filling around the cabbage. Bake in the oven for 15–20 minutes.
