Brussels Sprouts with Chestnuts in Cream Sauce
Ingredients
- Butter 2 tablespoons
- Salt ¾ teaspoon
- Ground Black Pepper ½ teaspoon
- Water 1¼ cups
- Brussels Sprouts 30 oz
- Canned water chestnuts 5 oz
- Cream 1 cup
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a skillet, combine the butter, salt, pepper, and 1 cup of water. Place over high heat and bring to a boil.
Step 2
Add the halved Brussels sprouts and cook, partially covered, until tender, about 6–8 minutes.
Step 3
Remove the lid and cook for another 3–4 minutes, until all the liquid has evaporated and the sprouts are browned.
Step 4
Add the cream and the remaining water, bring to a boil, stirring. Then add the chestnuts, reduce the heat, and cook, stirring, for another 2 minutes.
