Ingredients

- Parsley 3 stalks
- Milk 15 fl oz
- Wheat Flour 2 tablespoons
- Olive Oil 2 tablespoons
- Butter 0 oz
- Brussels Sprouts 5 lbs
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare the Brussels sprouts: remove the outer leaves and stems. Rinse in water with vinegar or lemon juice. Boil salted water, add a handful of sprouts, and cover: when the water starts boiling again, add another handful. When all the sprouts are in the pot, remove the lid to prevent the vegetables from losing their natural green color. The total cooking time is 20-25 minutes.
Step 2
Meanwhile, melt the butter with the oil in a pan, stir in the flour, and cook for 2 minutes. Gradually pour in the milk, and cook, stirring, for another 8 minutes.
Step 3
Transfer the contents of the pot with the sprouts to a colander and rinse under cold water. Place the sprouts in the pan and mix so that they are all coated with the sauce. Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with finely chopped parsley.
