Description

Brussels Sprouts with Bacon and Apples

Ingredients

  • Coarse Salt to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Bacon 10 oz
  • Brussels Sprouts 25 oz
  • Green Apples 1 piece
  • Chopped Sage Leaves ¼ teaspoon

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Clean the Brussels sprouts and cut each sprout in half lengthwise. Chop the bacon finely. Peel the apple, remove the core, and cut it into small cubes.

Step 2

In a pot of boiling salted water, cook the Brussels sprouts until tender, about 6 minutes.

Step 3

Meanwhile, in a well-heated skillet, fry the bacon over medium heat until crispy, about 2–3 minutes. Add the apples and cook, stirring, for another 2–3 minutes. Then sprinkle with thyme and add pepper.

Step 4

Drain the Brussels sprouts, dry them, and transfer to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper, mix, and serve.
