Braised Green Beans in Orange Juice with Cashews
Ingredients
- Green Beans 15 oz
- Shallot 1 head
- Olive Oil 2 tablespoons
- Orange Juice ¾ cup
- Cashews 0 oz
- Red pepper flakes a pinch
- Unsalted butter 2 tablespoons
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a skillet, heat the butter, add chopped cashews, red pepper flakes, and sauté for 2 minutes. Then transfer to a plate and set aside.
Step 2
Wiping the skillet with a paper towel, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped shallot and cook for 5 minutes until softened. After trimming the ends, add the green beans to the skillet and pour in the orange juice. Cover with a lid, reduce the heat, and braise, stirring occasionally, for 15-20 minutes until the beans are tender.
Step 3
Remove from heat, season with salt and pepper, and sprinkle the cashews on top.
