Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour 1¾ glasses
  • Dark Ale ¾ glasses
  • Egg white 4 pieces
  • Salt 1¼ spoons
  • Ground Black Pepper ½ spoons
  • Vegetable Oil 5 lbs
  • Peeled Cooked Shrimp 25 oz
  • Tartar Sauce to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

In a bowl, mix 0.75 cups of flour, ale, 2 egg whites, salt, and pepper. Cover and let it sit at room temperature for 2 hours.

Step 2

Preheat the oven to 250°F. Line a baking sheet with paper towels.

Step 3

In a large bowl, beat the remaining 2 egg whites until stiff peaks form, then gently fold them into the prepared batter in portions.

Step 4

Heat the fat in a large pot to a temperature of 375°F.

Step 5

Meanwhile, place 1 cup of flour on a plate. Dredge each shrimp in the flour, then dip it into the batter and carefully drop it into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown for about 1.5–2 minutes. Once cooked, transfer the shrimp to a baking sheet and place it in the oven to keep warm. Serve with tartar sauce.
