Description

This sauce is better suited for dipping rather than brushing before grilling. Try this sauce with grilled shrimp.

Ingredients

  • Vegetable Oil 2 teaspoons
  • Onion 10 oz
  • Garlic 2 cloves
  • Water ¾ cup
  • Chili jam ½ cup
  • Red Wine Vinegar 2 tablespoons
  • Mild Chili Spice 2 teaspoons
  • Coca-Cola 10 fl oz
  • Habanero Pepper 1 piece

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Heat the oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook, stirring, for 2 minutes until the onion becomes soft. Add the water, chili sauce, vinegar, ground chili, Coca-Cola, and finely chopped jalapeño. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and simmer for about 12 minutes until the volume reduces to 1.5 cups.

Step 2

Pour half of the sauce into a blender and blend until smooth. Transfer to a jar. Repeat the same with the remaining sauce. Store in the refrigerator.
