Balık Ekmek
Ingredients
- Mackerel 1 piece
- Onion 1 piece
- Tomatoes 1 piece
- French Baguette 1 piece
- Olive Oil 1 tablespoon
- Citric Acid to taste
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Clean the mackerel, remove the fillet from the skin, and carefully take out all the bones. Season each half with salt and pepper.
Step 2
Slice the onion and tomatoes into half rings (traditionally, a large amount of onion is added to balık ekmek).
Step 3
Fry the fish on both sides in a preheated pan with a small amount of oil.
Step 4
Cut the baguette in half and slice each half lengthwise, but not all the way through, so that it opens like a book.
Step 5
Drizzle olive oil inside the bread, layer with onion, tomatoes, mackerel, and more onion.
