Description
Bagna Cauda is a classic Piedmontese anchovy dipping sauce, reminiscent of fondue.
Ingredients
- Olive Oil 5 fl oz
- Anchovies 15 pieces
- Garlic 6 cloves
- Butter 5 oz
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Salt to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients.

Finely chop the anchovies.
Step 3
Finely chop the garlic.
Step 4
Heat olive oil in a saucepan.
Step 5
Add the anchovies.
Step 6
After a couple of minutes, add the garlic. Stir constantly.
Step 7
After another minute, add the butter to the resulting cloudy mixture.
Step 8
When it starts to loosen up a bit, gently whisk it with a whisk.
Step 9
Taste and season with salt and pepper to your liking.
Step 10
Serve in a warmed dish alongside bread and any fresh vegetables.
