Authentic Pasta Gratin
Ingredients
- Pasta (corkscrew) 20 oz
- Grated Chocolate 5 oz
- Breadcrumbs 5 oz
- Milk 0 qt
- Butter 0 oz
- Cream 10 fl oz
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
The day before, boil the pasta in a large pot of salted water (cooking time as indicated on the package). Drain through a colander and rinse under cold running water. Transfer to a deep bowl, pour in milk, and cover with plastic wrap.
Step 2
The next day, preheat the oven to 180°C.
Step 3
Drain the milk from the pasta, leaving 100 ml behind. Transfer to a deep bowl, add 100 ml of milk, cream, 80 g of grated cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Step 4
Grease a deep baking dish with butter and sprinkle 30 g of breadcrumbs on top. Arrange the pasta in the dish, leveling it out, then sprinkle the remaining grated Gruyère cheese and breadcrumbs over the surface. Cut the remaining butter into small cubes and distribute them on top of the pasta.
