Austrian spicy sauce with rye toasts and pickled red onion
Ingredients
- Garlic ½ clove
- Coarse Salt ½ teaspoon
- Butter 5 oz
- Natural Yogurt 10 oz
- Gherkins 3 pieces
- Chopped chives 2 tablespoons
- Onion 0 oz
- Sweet Paprika 1 tablespoon
- Wine Vinegar 1½ teaspoons
- Hot paprika ¼ teaspoon
- Rye Bread to taste
- Red Onion 1 piece
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Crush the garlic with ½ teaspoon of salt in a mortar until it forms a paste. Using an electric mixer, beat the butter in a medium bowl until smooth.
Step 2
Add the garlic mixture and the other 6 ingredients, and mix well. Add salt or vinegar to taste. Let it sit at room temperature for 1 hour. Stir before serving.
Step 3
Serve with rye toasts and pickled red onion.
