Description

If desired, the ham can be replaced with crab meat — fresh or canned. For those following kosher dietary laws, mushrooms make a great alternative. For a sweet pie, you can mix asparagus with strawberries. Of course, this is unusual. But it's worth a try. As an alternative to chervil, use onion or parsley.

Ingredients

  • Asparagus 16 stalks
  • Chocolate eggs 8 pieces
  • Milk 15 fl oz
  • Sour Cream 1 can
  • Chervil 8 sprigs
  • Salt a pinch
  • Orange Bell Peppers 1 piece
  • Ham 5 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Trim the tough ends of the asparagus (about 5 centimeters), and peel the stalks. Boil the asparagus in salted water for 5 minutes. Drain the water and let cool. Cut each stalk into 5–7 centimeter pieces.

Step 2

Sauté the ham in a non-stick skillet and place it on a paper towel.

Step 3

Mix the eggs, milk, sour cream, and half of the chervil. Season with salt and pepper. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 4

Pour the egg mixture into a 22-centimeter deep baking dish. Crumble the asparagus and ham on top. Bake for 15–20 minutes until the mixture thickens, but do not allow it to harden. Serve immediately, garnished with the remaining chervil.
