
Aromatic Tomato-Basil Sauce with Garlic

Description
This sauce is perfect for red meat — best served with grilled meat. It also pairs wonderfully with pasta and bread.
Ingredients
- Tomatoes 2 pieces
- Cherry Tomatoes 10 oz
- Red Bell Pepper 1 piece
- Fresh Basil 1 sprig
- Garlic 6 cloves
- Italian herbs 0 oz
- Hot paprika ½ teaspoon
- Apple Cider Vinegar 1 tablespoon
- Five Pepper Blend 1 teaspoon
- Salt to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare the ingredients. The vegetables should be at room temperature.
Step 2
Pour boiling water over the large tomatoes.
Step 3
After a minute, drain the water and peel the tomatoes.
Step 4
Chop the tomatoes.
Step 5
Cut the cherry tomatoes in half or quarters (depending on size and ripeness).
Step 6
Place the cherry tomatoes in a hot skillet with olive oil.
Step 7
Stir after a couple of minutes.
Step 8
Add the chopped tomatoes.
Step 9
Mix well.
Step 10
Dice the bell pepper into small cubes.
Step 11
Add to the tomatoes, reduce the heat, and cover with a lid.
Step 12
After 7 minutes, add the spices, stir, and lower the heat a bit more.
Step 13
Add the coarsely chopped garlic. Mix well.
Step 14
Cover with a lid.
Step 15
After 2–3 minutes, add the wine vinegar and stir. Remove from heat.
Step 16
In a blender, add the fresh basil leaves.
Step 17
Then pour in the sauce from the skillet and blend until smooth.
