Description

Do not cut the chili peppers, just remove the stems. You can use pineapple instead of mango. Serve with grilled chicken, pork, and salmon.

Ingredients

  • Vegetable Oil 2 tablespoons
  • Mango 15 oz
  • Yellow Mustard Seeds 1 teaspoon
  • Brown Sugar ¼ cup
  • Red Long Chili Peppers 8 pieces
  • Light Raisins, Seedless 5 oz
  • Water 1 cup
  • Salt ¼ teaspoon
  • Cilantro 0 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat and add the mustard seeds. Cover and cook for 20–30 seconds until they start to pop.

Step 2

Add the diced mango, raisins, and chili peppers (you can use less according to taste). Sauté, stirring, for 5–8 minutes until the raisins are soft.

Step 3

Stir in the sugar and cook for another 2 minutes.

Step 4

Pour in the water and add salt. Cook uncovered, stirring, for 10–15 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Step 5

Add the cilantro and serve warm.
