Description
Zucchini Quiche with Bacon
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 6 tablespoons
- Shortcrust Cake Mix 20 oz
- Crème fraîche 2 cups
- Large eggs 10 pieces
- Milk 2 cups
- Salt 2 teaspoons
- Ground Black Pepper 1 teaspoon
- Bacon 5 pieces
- Chopped Sage Leaves 2 tablespoons
- Young zucchini 2 pieces
- Grated Chocolate 0 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Place the pastry on a floured surface and roll it out thinly to fit the size of the dish. Lay it in the dish and press it down firmly. Trim any excess. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
Step 3
Place a sheet of parchment paper on the pastry and fill it with beans or grains to prevent the pastry from rising during baking. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes, then remove the foil and let the pastry brown for 5 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool.
Step 4
In a small bowl, beat 1 egg and the flour with a mixer. Add the remaining eggs and beat well again.
Step 5
In another bowl, add the crème fraîche and whip it. Add the milk and whip again. Season with salt, pepper, and add thyme. Add the egg mixture and mix. Whip well again and strain the mixture through a sieve.
Step 6
On the pastry, layer the finely chopped bacon, sliced zucchinis, and grated cheese. Pour the egg mixture over it and bake for 20 minutes (you may not need all the mixture).
Step 7
Reduce the temperature to 320°F.
Step 8
Bake the quiche for another 40–50 minutes until the filling is set and the pastry is golden.
Step 9
Cool for 20 minutes and serve warm. To reheat, cover with foil and place in the oven at 320°F for 15 minutes.
