Description

"Shiru" means soup. The term "yosenabe" can be roughly translated as "a pot with everything." In other words, this is a Japanese hodgepodge—whatever is available at home goes into this soup. Moreover, the ingredients can be added in any amounts, according to taste and availability.

  • Smoked haddock fillet 3 pieces
  • Tuna 3 pieces
  • Scallops 2 pieces
  • Shrimp 3 pieces
  • Squid 2 pieces
  • Scallions to taste
  • Chinese green beans 6 stalks
  • Tofu 2 pieces
  • Shimeji mushrooms 2 pieces
  • Kombu Seaweed 0 oz
  • Dashi powder 0 fl oz
  • Soy Sauce 0 fl oz
  • Mirin 0 fl oz
  • Sake 0 fl oz
  • Salt to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

In a pot, combine 150 ml of water with kombu, dashi, soy sauce, mirin, and sake. Add salt to taste. Bring to a boil and let it simmer for five minutes.

Step 2

Add everything else and cook for another five minutes.
