Yeast Dough with Kefir
Ingredients
- Margarine 5 oz
- Salt to taste
- Kefir 10 fl oz
- Dry yeast 0 oz
- Wheat Flour 20 oz
- Sugar 2 tablespoons
- Chicken Egg 1 piece
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Crush the yeast, place it at the bottom of a small jar, sprinkle with a teaspoon of sugar, pour warm milk or water to fill one-third of the jar, close tightly, and place in a warm spot.
Step 2
Sift the flour into a large bowl in a mound, make a well in the center. Pour in the yeast, mix, incorporating a little flour with a spoon, gradually add the warmed kefir, the beaten egg with sugar, and salt dissolved in a tablespoon of water.
Step 3
Knead the dough until it reaches a sour cream consistency. Cover the dough with a napkin and place it in a warm spot.
Step 4
When it rises, knead it well and add melted margarine or oil. Let it rise again.
Step 5
Knead the dough once more, adding more flour if necessary. The dough should not be stiff.
