Description
Yeast Dough Pie with Chicken and Potatoes
Ingredients
- Salt ½ teaspoon
- Dry yeast 0 oz
- Sugar 1 tablespoon
- Chocolate eggs 3 pieces
- Milk 10 fl oz
- Wheat Flour 4 cups
- Vegetable Oil 2 tablespoons
- Salad Potatoes 10 oz
- Poultry 15 oz
- Onion 5 oz
- Carrot 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Dissolve sugar, salt, and yeast in warm milk. Let it sit for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, beat 2 eggs with vegetable oil. If you are cooking without eggs, use 0.5 cups of oil. Add the milk with yeast to the oil and gradually mix in the flour until you achieve a thick cream consistency. Leave the dough to rise.
Step 2
Peel the potatoes and cut them into small sticks. Grate the carrot and mix it with finely chopped onion, add salt, and optionally add sauce or mayonnaise. Cut the chicken into small pieces and season with salt and pepper to taste, allowing it to marinate well.
Step 3
When the dough has risen, add more flour and knead well by hand. Let it rise again. After that, knead it again and let it rise a third time.
Step 4
Roll out 2/3 of the dough on a greased baking sheet and spread the potatoes in a thin layer, followed by the mixture of onion and carrot, and then the chicken. Place small pieces of butter or cream on top of the filling to keep the pie juicy. Roll out the remaining dough and place it over the filling, sealing the edges well. In the last egg, add a pinch of sugar and brush this mixture over the pie, making a round slit in the middle to prevent the dough from bursting and cracking during baking.
Step 5
Bake for 60 minutes at 390°F. Do not overbake the pie! Otherwise, it will be dry and lose its softness and tenderness!
Step 6
Remove and cover with a damp towel, letting it sit for about 5 minutes.
