Wine jelly with citrus pieces
Ingredients
- Gelatin 3 tablespoons
- Sugar ½ cup
- Water ¾ cup
- Muscat Wine 1 cup
- White Vermouth 1¼ cups
- Grapefruits 1 piece
- Orange Candies 1 piece
- Mandarins 1 piece
- Meyer Lemon Juice 1 piece
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a bowl, mix 5 tablespoons of cold water and gelatin. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
Step 2
In a saucepan, combine sugar, ½ cup of water, and both wines. Place over medium heat and stir until the sugar dissolves.
Step 3
Add the gelatin and stir until it dissolves. Cook for another 1 minute.
Step 4
Remove from heat and strain through a sieve. Pour into a rectangular mold about 20–30 cm and chill.
Step 5
Meanwhile, peel the citrus fruits from the skin and membranes. Cut the flesh into small pieces and arrange them nicely in the unset jelly.
Step 6
Let it set overnight.
Step 7
Carefully remove the jelly from the mold onto a cutting board. Cut into small squares and serve immediately.
