Ingredients

  • Beetroot 1 piece
  • Potato 2 pieces
  • Onion 1 head
  • Carrot 1 piece
  • White Cabbage 10 oz
  • Passata Tomato Sauce 1 tablespoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar ½ g
  • Sour Cream to taste
  • Herbs to taste
  • Water 0 qt
  • Butter 0 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Wash the beetroot, peel it, place it in boiling water, and cook until almost done. Then remove the beetroot. Once cooled, grate it on a coarse grater.

Step 2

Finely chop the onion and carrot and sauté them in butter.

Step 3

Add diced potatoes to the boiling beet broth. After 10 minutes, add the cabbage. When the cabbage is ready, add the onion and carrot. Then add the grated beetroot. Bring to a boil and add tomato paste, salt, and sugar to taste. When serving, garnish the borscht with sour cream and herbs.
