Description
Honey can be replaced with sugar, in which case you will need 1 cup of sugar.
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 1 cup
- Sugar ½ cup
- Cocoa Powder ½ cup
- Baking Powder 1 teaspoon
- Vanilla salt 1 teaspoon
- Salt 1 teaspoon
- Activated Baking Soda ½ teaspoon
- Honey 1 tablespoon
- Water ½ cup
- Vegetable Oil ½ cup
- Nuts 0 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Step 2
Sift the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda. Add sugar, vanilla sugar or vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well.
Step 3
Chop the nuts with a knife and add them to the dry mixture.
Step 4
Dissolve 1 tablespoon of honey (heaping) in ½ cup of warm water.
Step 5
Add the honey water to the dry mixture. Stir, then add ½ cup of vegetable oil. Mix until smooth.
Step 6
Transfer to a baking dish and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes. I baked in a 7x10 inch dish for 20 minutes in the middle of the oven with bottom heat, then for another 5 minutes with top and bottom heat.
Step 7
Let cool for 10 minutes. The cake will be moist, and when it cools, it will develop a crispy crust. You can garnish with powdered sugar or a scoop of ice cream when serving.
