Vegan Apple Cookies
Baking and Desserts • Russian
Description
The apples in this recipe become part of the dough. If you use more of them, the cookies will be softer, but there is a chance that they will taste good yet be a bit soggy. If you use fewer apples, the cookies will turn out dry and crispy like crackers. In the latter case, you can even skip the oven: if you make the cookies thin, they can be baked in a dry skillet.
Ingredients
- Safflower Oil 5 fl oz
- Water 5 fl oz
- Wheat Flour 10 oz
- Baking Powder 0 oz
- Salt 0 oz
- Sugar 5 oz
- Apple 3 pieces
- Cinnamon 0 oz
- Clove 3 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a suitable bowl, mix the sifted wheat flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and cinnamon. Add sugar to taste. Mix everything well.
Step 2
In a heat-resistant pot, add the required amount of water, sunflower oil, and cloves. Bring the mixture to a boil. Remove the cloves.
Step 3
Add the hot oily mixture to the dry ingredients.
Step 4
Immediately add grated apples to the unmixed dough; first, wash them, peel, and remove the core. Knead the dough. If the dough turns out too liquid, add more flour.
Step 5
Spoon onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Step 6
Send to a preheated oven until golden brown.
