  • Brown Sugar ¾ cup
  • Baking Powder ¼ teaspoon
  • Activated Baking Soda ¼ teaspoon
  • Salt ½ teaspoon
  • Vanilla salt ½ teaspoon
  • Dried Apricots 5 oz

  • Ground dried cherries 0 oz
  • Green Figs 5 oz
  • Peeled chestnuts 5 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Mix the flour with salt, baking powder, and baking soda.

Step 2

Add the dried fruits cut into small pieces, sugar, and nuts to the bowl with flour, and mix well by hand.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with vanilla until fluffy; the mixture will double in size.

Step 4

Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently mix until all the fruits are coated with a thin layer of batter.

Step 5

Line the baking pan with parchment paper (and grease it with butter!), pour the batter into it, pressing down to eliminate air pockets.

Step 6

Preheat the oven to 300°F. Bake for 70–75 minutes.

Step 7

When the cake turns golden brown, remove it from the oven and cool it in the pan.
